Congratulations to Professor Hu Haiyan, the 9th President of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM); Professor Chen Yunmin, a member of the 9th Rock Mechanics Committee of CSTAM; and Professor Zhuang Xiaoying, a member of the Data-Driven Computational Mechanics Method Group under the Computational Mechanics Committee of CSTAM, on their election as Fellows of Academia Europaea.

Academia Europaea is a European, non-governmental association acting as an Academy. Members of Academia Europaea are scientists and scholars who collectively aim to promote learning, education and research. Founded in 1988, the academy now has more than 5,500 members, including 88 Nobel laureates – many of whom were elected before receiving their prizes. Its members are leading experts from the physical sciences and technology, biological sciences and medicine, mathematics, the letters and humanities, social and cognitive sciences, economics and the law.
