The 2026 Workshop on Strategy for Fluid Mechanics took place from 13 to 15 March in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province. Guided by the NSFC Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and organized by CSTAM's Fluid Mechanics Committee, the event brought together nearly 170 leading experts and young scholars.
The invited lecture session featured presentations on AI-driven transformation of fluid mechanics research, high-speed trimaran hydrodynamics, nanoliter liquid manipulation, scientific machine learning for knowledge discovery, supersonic combustion challenges, intelligence-physics integrated turbulence computing, double-diffusive turbulence modeling, and high-speed hydrodynamics of trans-media vehicles. After that, Professor Xu Chunxiao (Tsinghua University), Chair of the Fluid Mechanics Committee, reported on recent committee achievements and future plans. The workshop reached strategic consensus on frontier challenges, interdisciplinary integration, and talent development.
