On 27 March 2026, Professor Jacques Magnaudet, President of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) and senior researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research, visited the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM). Professor He Guowei, President of CSTAM and researcher at the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, welcomed Professor Magnaudet and highlighted the long-standing cooperation between CSTAM and IUTAM.

Both sides exchanged views on hosting high-level international conferences, enhancing the global profile of the Beijing International Center for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (BICTAM), and expanding IUTAM’s influence in the Asia-Pacific region.

During his visit, Professor Magnaudet also delivered a lecture at BICTAM, attracting over 5,500 online viewers worldwide. The visit further strengthened mutual understanding and trust, laying a solid foundation for deeper international cooperation and CSTAM’s expanded global engagement.
