On November 21, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) announced the results of its 2025 academician election. Three CSTAM members were elected: Professor Feng Xiqiao (Vice President of CSTAM, Tsinghua University), Professor Wang Jinjun (Supervisor of CSTAM, Beihang University) and Professor Yao Yangping (Deputy Director of Rock Mechanics Committee of CSTAM, Beihang University).

Membership in the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is China’s highest academic accolade in the field of science and technology and represents a lifelong position conferred by the State. The election of new Members is held biennially.
