On 6 November 2025, Professor Alfredo Soldati, President of ICTAM 2028 and Rector of the International Centre for Mechanical Sciences (CISM), visited the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM). CSTAM President He Guowei met with Professor Soldati to discuss enhancing China-Europe cooperation in mechanics.

Both sides shared their activities and international partnerships. Professor Soldati acknowledged the global influence of Chinese mechanics research, and both explored future collaborations, including co-hosting high-level conferences. Professor He invited Professor Soldati to join the organizing committee of the next International Conference on Fluid Mechanics (ICFM) in Beijing. 

During his visit, Professor Soldati delivered a lecture at the Beijing International Centre for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (BICTAM), engaging with Chinese scholars and students. Professor He presented him with a certificate appointing him to the BICTAM Scientific Committee. The visit reinforced academic ties and set the stage for continued international collaboration.
