The national science outreach event "Mechanics Meets Shanxi" was held in Taiyuan from September 21 to 22, 2025. Organized by CSTAM, Shanxi Association for Science and Technology, Taiyuan University of Technology, and the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the event gathered 14 experts who delivered popular science lectures and engaged in academic exchanges across local universities, middle schools, and primary schools, reaching over 1,500 students and teachers.

Featured activities included keynote lectures on aerospace mechanics, interactive sessions with book donations at secondary schools, and visits to local enterprises. As part of a nationwide science promotion initiative, the event demonstrated a commitment to public science education and fostering future

talent in the field.
