On April 25, 2025, the "Science and China" Member Lecture Tour, part of thenationwide initiative "1,000 Academicians, 1,000 Science Lectures," was held in Qingyang, Gansu Province, drawing over 9,000 participants. The event was sponsored by the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and jointly organized by the Institute of Mechanics, CAS, the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM), and local authorities. Five academicians from CAS and over ten leading experts visited schools, research institutes, and local enterprises, delivering lectures on frontier scientific topics and engaging with students, educators, and the public to inspire interest in science and technology.

Academician Li Yinghong, Professor Zhang Yunquan, Academician Zheng Xiaojing, Academician Liu Weimin, Academician Guo Liejin, and Academician Zhou Youhe gave lectures on topics including aviation technology, computing power, sand and environmental mechanics, lubricating materials, energy innovation, and the significance of basic research.

Experts such as Professor Dai Lanhong, Professor Zhao Ruilin, Professor Qian Qingli, Professor Wang Jizeng, Professor Wang Lizhen, Dr. Wu Baojun, Professor Yang Xiaolei, and Professor Luo Ziren presented popular science reports covering the scientific spirit, mathematical physics, biochemistry, and space exploration.

The "Science and China" academician and expert lecture tour was launched in December 2002. Since then, more than 2,000 science popularization activities have been held nationwide.
