The Chinese Committee of the International Science Council (ISC-CHINA) held its 2025 Plenary Session in Beijing on February 28, 2025. During the session, the list of candidates for the ISC-CHINA election (term 2025-2028) was approved, and four distinguished scientists from the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM) were successfully elected.
Academician Yang Wei, the 10th President of CSTAM and Member-at-Large of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM), was elected as Honorary Member. Academician Gao Huajian, Chairman of the Beijing International Center for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and Member of IUTAM Board of Directors, and Academician He Guowei, President of CSTAM and Member of IUTAM Council, were elected as Committee Members. Academician Zhuang Zhuo, Member of the 1st CSTAM Board of Auditors and Vice President of the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM), was elected as Invited Expert.
ISC-China is established under the approval of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). Its mission is to organize, coordinate and promote the Chinese science community to participate in the ISC activities; to pursue productive international exchanges and cooperation between China and the other ISC member organizations; to investigate China-related critical issues occurred in different ISC organizations and their activities; and to identify and recommend Chinese scholars to take posts in ISC's organizations.
