Editorial and publishing is an essential function of CSTAM. It is the publisher of 18 professional journals with 5 in English version. Among the 18 journals, 9 are indexed by EI and 4 by SCI.

It also prints newsletters, annual report, and conferences/symposia proceedings each year. During the past decades, it also published hundreds of professional books and books for mechanics popularization, such as Modern Mechanics and Progress of Science and Technology, Profiles of Chinese Scientists in Science and Technology (Volume of Engineering, Section of Mechanics), Research Report on Mechanics Development, Chinese Science and Technology in 2020 (Section of Mechanics), A History of Mechanics in China, A History of Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and series of books on mechanics popularization etc.
