CSTAM was nominated as “Advanced Society” by the China Association of Science and Technology (CAST) in 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007. The Society was appraised as “National Outstanding Non-Governmental Organization” by Chinese Ministry of Civil Administration (MCA) in 2004, 2010 and 2015. In 2011, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China and CAST awarded the Society the title of “Advanced Group Model”. The Society was appraised as “Outstanding Science and Technology Association” by CAST in 2012 and 2015 respectively.
Journals that CSTAM sponsored have made a great achievement during the past years. Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Acta Mechanica Sinica, Advances in Mechanics, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters (TAML), Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (English Edition), and Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica etc. are well-known journals in local mechanics community. They have won different types of prizes, awards as well as support from the government, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) or CAST.
